Next I worked on manipulating the template ‘blank’ jar image to create images that look as though they have various fillings (mango chutney, jams etc).
To achieve this, I decided to use a fill overlay layer, then add a filter and opacity to this.
First, I used fill on a new layer (with shape of jar selected) to create a base colour (this one is for mango chutney):
I placed this as a layer below the image of the jar, and added a ‘soft light’ overlay to the jar image, then set the opacity of the orange fill layer to 50%. Here is the result:
Voila – Mango Chutney!!
I carried out the same process for Plum Jam, using a purple fill instead of orange:
